Tony Airo's Hair Products

"I speak one language with Hair"

Introduction

Tony Airo’s products started as a humble company with only one shampoo, we have since grown in product range and in professional experience. For the protection of our customers and the end consumer, we only use the highest Sterilised Quality Grade raw materials as the base for ALL our hair and cosmetic products manufactured.

Any colourants used are those recommended by the Food & Drug Association and are acceptable for export to countries that have restrictions on colourants. We are well known for our ability to produce some of the most technically advanced Hair Care products available, supplying our clients with home care and professional products.

Contract Manufacturing

Our service can include the sourcing and supply of all raw materials and packaging on the behalf of our clients from our local sources. We will work with clients assisting them in the design of the most appropriate packaging for any product.

Our wealth of experience in the marketplace enables us to advise if any environmental or cultural considerations need to be taken into consideration in the country the product is intended to be sold in.

The Director being an International Hair stylist, we are able to pass on the latest thinking on specific ingredients from a professional.

On behalf of clients we will either manufacture to our client’s specification, or develop products in the following categories:

  1. Hair Care Products
  2. Skin Care Creams, Oils & Lotions
  3. Household & Commercial Cleaners
  4. Liquids and Powders Cleansers

Upon acceptance of our payment terms and receipt of a firm order, the product is scheduled into production and shipping or delivery dates can be confirmed. Concurrent with above, packaging is either supplied by the Client or sourced by us if required.

New Product Development

The first step in any new product development involves an in-depth consultation to establish the criteria the product is expected to meet, followed by development of formulations to specification by our laboratory, testing of these formulations and then production. Indicative prices are usually available at this point.

To outline the procedure briefly:

Initial formulations are made in our laboratory and submitted to client for appraisal and the best performing formula is agreed upon.

Tests are then carried out to ensure the stability of any preservative system used in the formulation (Challenge testing). This takes at least 6 weeks.

Once the final results of the Challenge Tests are available adjustments are made to the formula (if necessary). If not the product is then given out as samples to our clients and consumers to get the feel and feedback from them, at this stage it is also used in all our professional salons to get first hand feedback, this test stage takes around 6 months.

Testing of the finished formula completed and accepted. Firm prices will be advised along with lead times for production.

Laboratory Facilities

In house laboratory facilities are available which meet the majority of our product formulation and research and development needs. Quality assurance and quality control checks are carried out frequently during the manufacturing process to ensure all products meet specifications 100% before dispatch. These checks include:

  1. Appearance
  2. Specific Gravity
  3. pH
  4. Viscosity

Our chemists constantly review and improve formulations to ensure the latest technical developments in ingredients are available to our clients.

Before any products are released from our factory they are sent to Kenya bureau of standards (KEBS) for Bacteriological Testing; no product is guaranteed until these test results are received in writing and issued with the standardization and compliance quality mark.

Many companies’ require a copy of this Bacteriological Report and Kenya Bureau of standards certificate be submitted as part of their regulations, i.e. before any purchase has been made.

A substantial resource library of formulations is also available.
